Beyond the words: Media generation with large language models in the workplace

LUNCH SEMINAR

Wednesday 15 May

As technology advances, companies are investing in AI tools that can generate text or other media, including code. These tools, such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot, are becoming increasingly popular among technologists from diverse backgrounds. But what does this mean for us who work in the industry?

In this lunch seminar, we will explore the current state of AI tools for media generation and discuss their potential advantages and disadvantages. We will look beyond the hype and address some common questions, such as whether these tools will replace humans and whether it is safe and legal to use their results.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about the exciting development of AI tools and how they can affect the way we work. Whether you're writing code yourself or just working with technology, this talk will provide valuable insights into the future of AI media generation.

The seminar is primarily for those who work in tech and IT but do not work with the code themselves.

WORKSHOP
ChatGPT API and Copilot -

Develop systems faster

Wednesday 15 May

LLMs, like ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot, are revolutionizing the way we write code by enabling context-aware code generation, debugging, documentation, and more.

During this half-day workshop, you will get an introduction to start developing systems faster and do it precisely with the help of these tools.

What we will go through:

Introduction to LLM-based tools
(eg ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot)
- Key features and benefits
- How to get started
- Using LLM to write code

Effective prompts within the development workflow
- Tips and tricks
- Limitations
- Combine different LLM tools
- Security and legal considerations

The workshop is for those who wish to familiarize themselves with LLMs, especially copilot. Understanding of Python is required to keep up well.

Facilitator

Dimitris Platis , calls himself a software engineer and creator.

These days I like to hack on embedded systems of all shapes and sizes. Having worked with systems running Yocto Linux and the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), I am passionate about software architecture and clean code that enables high quality, reusability and maintainability. They are fundamental to agility, efficiency and my way of working.

I also like to teach. Whether it's systems development for BSc students at the University of Gothenburg or C++ for professionals, I like to transfer my passion for the subject to the course participants, while providing them with all the necessary knowledge.

Last but not least, I spend my evenings on open source projects that I blog about. My favorite projects revolve around developer tools, IoT, robotics and handheld gadgets where I love to develop the entire product stack.

We explore and develop people, systems and companies and make them grow through our technical competence and experience.
